Abstract
Understanding and interpreting the holy texts is of the first importance among religious commentators. In the meantime, Schleiermacher, as the father of modern hermeneutics in Christianity, has proposed solutions to understand and interpret the holy books, which claims to generalize their application in understanding and interpreting the Qur'an. He has achieved practical components such as determining the meaning of the text, the lack of independence of the text from the author, the necessity of consonance with the text, the inadequacy of linguistic rules for interpretation, renewing the author's mental experience for the interpreter, intuition, empathy and the artistic nature of interpretation in understanding the Bible and Qur'an. Here it is aimed to examine the most important applied components of Schleiermacher's hermeneutics in understanding the Qur'an in the light of Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's interpretive perspective by descriptive-analytical method. The findings and results of this article show that his methodical hermeneutics can be used in understanding the Qur'an, but it cannot be completely sufficient and his hermeneutic approach indicates that some of those components are effective and others are insufficient in understanding the Qur'an.
